.history.
Christopher is the youngest son of Councilor Reston, who is a very respected member of the twelve Councilors of Kanemoria. Reston was once the High Prince of Kanemoria, and could claim a direct line to the original Norey to boot, though unfortunate timing as well as a long line of events eventually led to him being demoted to a Councilor, and his rival, Reuben, was presented with the throne. As a result of this, his father has been determined to groom his sons for politics.
His older brother, Thomas, was first in this line, though when Christopher was young he died in a riding accident. His other brother, Scott, was next for his father's plan, though fighting between the two led to Scott running away, leaving Christopher as his father's "last hope".
An up and coming young man in the political world, Christopher is around the same age as the current High Prince, so it has been assumed by many that they are rivals, though that isn't the case at all. Chris knows what he is being groomed for, of course, and he knows that his father intends to see him on the throne, since he is his last hope, though that isn't what he wants; he is content to aid the country in whatever ways he can, though he doesn't care too much for the power. He'll accept the responsibility, though he's not too pleased with the position that he has been put in, especially considering the deadliness of it.
He was always fascinated with the world around him, his curiosity from his younger years never leaving him. Having a natural affinity for magic, he was almost pushed into becoming a Magus after it was learned that the High Prince had taken this path as well. He was quite educated, as his mother had insisted upon her children studying and learning at an early age, though it was only natural that they would have high educations considering their status. He is quite proficient with wind magic, though wishes to enhance his abilities in the other elements.
When Christopher wasn't home in his family's manor, he was often in the palace, spending his time with his "core group" of friends and family. It wasn't long before the King's Mistress of Spies, Mydra, who made a point of keeping an eye on him, began to find ways of putting him to "use", eventually leading to him becoming one of her more successful spies, ironically enough.
It was because of this that he found himself being sent up to Northern Kanemoria to meet with a group of travelers claiming to be heirs of a "House Franel" in Dentoria that did not exist. Christopher became a guide for them while in Kanemoria, and began to form his own attachments within the group through their travels afterwards. He feels guilty about not being able to remain in Norey to assist with the rebuilding, however it is his duties that come first.
In Kanemoria, following the cyclone, his travels with the group led them first up the mountains, scaling a wall, to a mysterious sword that had very strange affects on the Franel Lords. In Norey, during the night of the dead, an old friend was murdered during the Night of the Dead party, where riots took place. Rocked by these events, Christopher continued with the group anyway, on an old boat that took them to Atsiria, fighting off pirates as they went. While it always had been hard for him to fight people, he actually held his own well in the battles, surprising himself.
From the ship, they entered Razen, where political intrigue and murder awaited. To no avail they all did their best to research and spy to try and save Lawrence from a charge of regicide, but they were saved by the Prophet Melyndra, who took control as the head of their group, leading them towards Cleraine, where more intrigue and heartbreak awaited. Surviving an earthquake, Corrina, a young girl that they had rescued from a whorehouse in Colndor, was murdered by Chiel, a thief who had been in their number for a long time and whom most if not all had begun to consider harmless. Following this, the heirs to house Atsir, driven mad by the presence of the Franel lords, all began to kill themselves or each other, leaving only Lord Joseph, and Lady Westa, untouched by any of this, behind. Lady Laeleena, the ruling lady of Cleraine, was also killed, supposedly in a suicide, following the deaths of her children at the height of the moon festival.
The events of Cleraine left behind them, the group continued on into the desert. Sometime throughout this, Christopher received a summons from his father, Reston, recalling him back home to Norey. Planning to evade this summons for as long as possible, Christopher got caught up in a bit of a foolish plan that involved sneaking back to Norey during the Kanemorian Independence Day festival. They would have made it back, had Jasmine not loitered around for more time, and Christopher was indeed, caught by his father. Feeling guilty about leaving Franelcrew, he was sure to send gifts back with Jasmine for the upcoming Festival of Leaves, as well as any supplies they'd need from Kanemoria, promising his support. Now he spends his time working on reports again for Mydra, and spending time with his cousin Julian, whom he had missed, and treading carefully around his Father.

.personality.
Christopher is not blind to the world around him, though sometimes he pretends to be oblivious, particularly if the questions asked of him concern his occupation. He is intelligent, though prefers observing; not that he hasn't spent most of his life studying; he just reads people better. He tries to be as helpful as possible, which might make him seem a bit of a pushover. He is actually fairly reserved when he isn't working on anything political, but doesn't mind a good conversation.
He is good-natured and good-humored unless something happens to tick him off, which is rather rare, as he's been trained to be a diplomat first; very charismatic. He is used to dealing with people, though can be somewhat embarrassed by it when it doesn't have anything to do with his job and is more on a personal level. He has a natural curiosity about the world, considering that he's barely been out of Kanemoria.
He knows what Kanemoria is and what the people of it do best; if he is forced into a position of power by default, he will try to make changes. Which is another thing that makes him popular in some groups... and a major target for others.

.appearance.
A good-looking boy, though he looks much younger than he is, Christopher is rather thin and of average height, standing at roughly 5'9". His skin is fair and smooth, with a healthy complexion. He has deep blue eyes and short brown hair that nearly falls to his eyes. He usually tends to wear a floppy white hat over it.

See the world in green and blue See China right in front of you See the canyons broken by cloud See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out See the Bedouin fires at night See the oil fields at first light And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth After the flood all the colors came out
